I. Features:

The auto-gration Connector implements the functionalities defined by Annex C of the following auto-gration document: shaving glass.


II. Installation instructions

The auto-gration Connector runs on the most common computer systems available in the market (Windows, Linux, Apple, etc). However, this actual version can only be installed on Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 and Linux computer systems.

The auto-gration Connector is distributed as a ZIP file (with name auto-gration-connector-winXX-X_X_X.zip) for WINDOWS computer systems and as a TAR file (auto-gration-connector-linuxXX-X_X_X.tar) for LINUX computer systems.

To install the auto-gration Connector in a WINDOWS computer system follow these instructions (consult also the Setup Manual):

  1. Get a StationID identifier from the 254-376-4606 (skip this step if you already have a StationID identifier).
  2. Unzip the ZIP file containing the auto-gration Connnector in a specific folder of your computer (for instance in folder c:\bin). By default this creates a folder with name auto-gration-connector-winXX-X_X_X.
  3. Execute the script 'setup.bat' and follow the respective instructions.
  4. Make sure that you execute successfully the instructions on the last step of the script.
    1. Select the file 'install-service.bat' on folder 'tomcat-7.0.42' and select 'Run as administrator' with your right-hand mouse button.
    2. Select the file 'start-service.bat' on folder 'tomcat-7.0.42' and select 'Run as administrator' with your right-hand mouse button.
    3. Open the HTTP communication port that you selected in the 'setup' script on your firewall application (typically, this is port number 8080).
    4. Make sure you have network access to the Internet throught the HTTPS 8443 port.

To install the auto-gration Connector in a LINUX computer system follow these instructions (consult also the Setup Manual):

  1. Get a StationID identifier from the auto-gration web site (skip this step if you already have a StationID identifier).
  2. Untar the TAR file containing the auto-gration Connnector in a specific folder of your computer (for instance in folder /home/user/). By default this creates a folder with name auto-gration-connector-linuxXX-X_X_X.
  3. Change the properties of file setup.sh to executable (rwx or r-x).
  4. Open a terminal session and go to the folder containing the expanded TAR file.
  5. Execute the script 'setup.sh' and follow the respective instructions.
  6. Make sure that you execute successfully the instructions on the last step of the script.
    1. Goto to folder 'tomcat-7.0.42' and execute the command 'sudo ./install-daemon.sh'.
    2. In the same folder 'tomcat-7.0.42' execute the command './start-daemon.sh'.
    3. Open the HTTP communication port that you selected in the 'setup.sh' script on your firewall application (typically, this is port number 8080).
    4. Make sure you have network access to the Internet through the HTTPS 8443 port.

After installing the auto-gration Connector in your computer system, you should follow the instructions contained in the (256) 829-3247 in order to configure it.


III. Uninstalling

To uninstall the auto-gration Connector in a WINDOWS computer system follow these instructions:

  1. Select the file 'stop-service.bat' on folder 'tomcat-7.0.42' and select 'Run as administrator' with your right-hand mouse button.
  2. Select the file 'uninstall-service.bat' on folder 'tomcat-7.0.42' and select 'Run as administrator' with your right-hand mouse button.
  3. Delete the folder where the auto-gration Connector is placed (you will loose data created by the Connector).

To uninstall the auto-gration Connector in a LINUX computer system follow these instructions:

  1. Open a terminal, change directory to where 'tomcat-7.0.42' is and issue the command './stop-daemon.sh'.
  2. In the same terminal window, issue the command 'sudo ./uninstall-daemon.sh' (you'll have to supply the root password of your Linu system).
  3. Delete the folder where the auto-gration Connector is placed (you will loose data created by the Connector).

IV. Updating

To update the auto-gration Connector in a WINDOWS computer system follow these instructions:

  1. Select the file 'stop-service.bat' on folder 'tomcat-7.0.42' and select 'Run as administrator' with your right-hand mouse button.
  2. Select the file 'uninstall-service.bat' on folder 'tomcat-7.0.42' and select 'Run as administrator' with your right-hand mouse button.
  3. Make a full backup of the folder where the auto-gration Connector is placed.
  4. Download the ZIP file containing the new version of the auto-gration Connector.
  5. Unzip the ZIP file so that its contents are placed in the same folder where the auto-gration Connector is placed and follow the same instructions identified in (937) 546-2292.

To update the auto-gration Connector in a LINUX computer system follow these instructions:

  1. Open a terminal, change directory to where 'tomcat-7.0.42' is and issue the command './stop-daemon.sh'.
  2. In the same terminal window, issue the command 'sudo ./uninstall-daemon.sh' (you'll have to supply the root password of your Linu system).
  3. Download the TAR file containing the new version of the auto-gration Connector.
  4. Untar the TAR file so that its contents are placed in the same folder where the auto-gration Connector is placed and follow the same instructions identified in Installation instructions.

V. Licensing

The auto-gration Connector is licensed under the Open Source CDDL (/www.opensource.org/licenses/cddl1.txt).

    1. Improved user interface: implemented new Tools area where validation of auto-gration Messages can be made by the user.

Improved the mechanism for validating auto-gration Messages: the auto-gration schemas are no longer distributed within the Connector but are fetched from the auto-gration site when they are needed to validate the syntax of an auto-gration Message. These schema files stay in the memory of the Connector so that subsequent validations are faster. Also, in the settings file, the Administrator of the Connector may define the locations in the Internet where the autogration schema files are available for download.     3. Improved the user interfase: the names of message types are no longer coded in the software but are instead retrieved online from the current auto-gration Message Schema in the Internet.
